Dear Sun Spots: I enjoy reading your suggestions every morning. I have something to share with you and readers if you like to save money. And who doesn’t? Well, start sorting the wax paper inside of cereal boxes. I cut some up for when I make hamburger patties. Also, the bread spoils faster in plastic bags. So I put my bread in there and it doesn’t moisten like the plastic does. I also put my hamburger and hot dog buns in them. They keep fresher much longer, and lunch meat and cheese also. Plastic is for the birds. Try these and you’ll see. Also, when you come home from the grocery store with potatoes in plastic bags. You should remove them and place them in paper bags so the moisture doesn’t spoil them. – R.A.F., Jay.
