SABATTUS — Classic Kitchens, a business specializing in the design and retail sales of kitchen and bath cabinetry and countertops, opened July 1.

By using a computer program known as “20/20,” room dimensions from either blueprints or actual field measurements of existing homes are entered into the system along with the client’s choice of door style, wood type and stain color. The 20/20 allows owner Michael Pond to design and price out a client’s kitchen or bath, while giving the client a three-dimensional view of the room prior to purchasing kitchen or bath cabinetry.

Classic Kitchens premier cabinet lines are “Diamond” cabinetry, which will be featured in the summer and fall issues of Better Homes and Gardens, and “Decora” cabinetry, which was recently featured in the Kitchen Trends magazine and the “Home Time” television series.

Classic Kitchens also offers countertop materials ranging from sheet goods and post-form laminate countertops to solid surface, such as granite and Corian. Cultured marble tops, which are mainly used in bathroom applications, are also available.

Pond has been in the building industry for more than 20 years, the last seven of which he was a kitchen designer for a reputable family-based building supply company.

Classic Kitchens is located at 477 Bowdoinham Road in Sabattus. Business hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. After-hour and weekend appointments are welcomed. Classic Kitchens can be reached at 375-8050 or by fax at 375-7277.
