FARMINGTON – Positive Turning Points for Youth and the Kerr House will again sponsor Maine acoustic roots trio, Turkey Hollow, in concert at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 26, in Nordica Auditorium at the University of Maine at Farmington. Admission for the show is $10 and $8 for children under 12 and senior citizens.

Turkey Hollow is comprised of three veteran entertainer/singer-songwriters. Tom Rowe, the group’s bassist, is also a member of Schooner Fare. His son Dave is a guitar flat-picking wizard who sings lead on many of the songs. The third member is guitarist Denny Breau, a many-time winner of Maine Country Music Association awards including instrumentalist of the Year and Entertainer of the Year.

The trio performs primarily original songs along with some well-chosen covers and sings in tight three-part harmony. Under the broad American roots music label, Turkey Hollow includes elements of folk, bluegrass, blues, Celtic, Cajun and rock. A Turkey Hollow concert is a tour of American music performed with flare and superb musicianship together with engaging stories and banter.

The concert will benefit Positive Turning Points for Youth and the Kerr House. Turning Points provides support, advocacy and assistance for teens experiencing a crisis in their living situation. The Kerr House, located on High Street is a residential program for pregnant and parenting teens and their children.
