In his letter of to the Sun Journal, Dick Rosenberg listed some lies he attributed to the Bush administration in order to get this country into a war with Iraq (July 8).

More about these lies appeared in the Sun Journal of June 13 but on page 13 of the C section, which said that the CIA dispatched an envoy to Africa to look into the uranium question. The envoy has since reported that the Bush administration manipulated his findings possibly to strengthen the rationale for war.

When the press went along with Congress to impeach President Clinton for lying about his personal affairs, that was front page news. Here we have a president who lied to get us into a war and this does not even make the front page.

Who would you say is to blame for the needless loss of American and Iraqi lives? Certainly Congress for giving authority to Bush to use force against any country he chooses. The press is also responsible for playing along with them.

Now, after all the damage has been done, the Sun Journal comes up with an editorial asking for a complete investigation by Congress into the lies (July 15).

Abuse of power by a president is not good for the country. Too much power in the hands of one person is dangerous, as world history has taught us.
