TOWNSHIP 16, RANGE 4, Maine (AP) – The state medical examiner’s office will use DNA tests to positively identify two young men who died in a high-speed car accident in northern Maine.

The bodies of the victims, who are believed to be from Caribou, were flown to Augusta Tuesday for DNA tests and autopsies. The medical examiners expect to identify them no earlier than Thursday .

The men were killed Sunday when the driver lost control of his car on Route 161, according to State Police.

McCausland said the car struck a tree and burst into flames.
