1947 – 2003

PORTLAND – Charles R. Tyler Jr., “Tim”, 55, of Farmington, passed away Thursday morning, July 31, at Maine Medical Center in the company of his family, following a long journey of complications from circulatory problems.

He was born at Newton-Wellsley Hospital in Newton, Mass., on Oct. 26, 1947, the son of C. Robert and Agnes (Webber) Tyler. “Tim” was raised in Farmington where he graduated from Farmington High School.

He attended Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia and graduated from Husson College with a degree in Business and Accounting.

He worked in employee relations at Forster Manufacturing Co. in Wilton and later at Sugarloaf USA. He also sold real estate and was employed by the post office.

On March 20, 1971, he married Michele Stewart. Together they raised three sons who have always been the center of their lives. He coached Little League Baseball and supported all of their athletic endeavors. They were his best friends.

He was passionate in his belief that all young people are good and can achieve their goals. He was a member of the Mt. Blue Boosters Club, The Elks Lodge and was involved with Career Development at Mt. Blue. He also enjoyed golfing with his sons and other friends, canoeing, antiquing, creating watercolors, maintaining his gardens and walking his dog, “Spirit.”

He is survived by his wife, Michele of Farmington; three sons, Michael Tyler and his wife, Bernadette and their son, Ashton Charles of Torrington, Conn., Jonah Tyler and his wife, Lisa and their daughter, Alexandra Victoria of Wallingford, Conn., and Joshua Tyler of Brighton, Mass.; his mother, Agnes Tyler of Farmington; his sister, Tory Tyler-Millar and her husband, Mark and their daughters, Heidi and Marianna of Cape Elizabeth; his father-in-law, Lee Stewart of Temple; his brother-in-law, Michael Stewart and his wife Debbie and their daughters, Jasmine and Chelsea of Gorham, NH; his sister-in-law, Suzanne Rancourt and her sons, Sam and Chris of Stoney Creek, NY.

He was predeceased by his father, C. Robert Tyler Sr.; and his mother-in-law, Muriel Stewart.
