1944 – 2003

AUBURN – Alfred Y. Winslow Jr., 59, a resident of 61 Caron Ave., died unexpectedly Sunday at his residence.

He was born in New Gloucester, June 1, 1944. He was a 1963 graduate of Mechanic Falls High School. He then joined the U.S. Air Force having served during the Vietnam War.

Following the service, he became a self-employed stone mason for many years specializing in residential masonry. Mr. Winslow took great pride in his work as a mason. His hobbies included playing cards, especially cribbage, and entertaining. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him.

Survivors include his wife, the former Claudette Couture whom he married, Dec. 17, 1964 of Auburn; one son, Alfred Y. Winslow III, and his wife, Amanda of Auburn; one brother, Michael Winslow and his wife, Sharon of Poland; and three grandchildren, Hunter, Payton, and Gunnar Winslow all of Auburn.

He was predeceased by one brother, Charles Winslow.
