TRENTON, N.J. (AP) – Kevin Reese hit the go-ahead two-run double in the seventh inning as the Trenton Thunder defeated the Portland Sea Dogs 3-2 on Monday night.
Trenton (57-58) broke a six-game losing streak.
Portland has now lost six in a row.
The Thunder trailed 2-0 going into the seventh when Omar Fuentes hit an RBI double off Portland starter Tim Kester to make it 2-1.
Jake Chapman relieved Kester (7-8) for Portland (59-54) and was greeted on the first pitch by Reese’s go-ahead hit.
Chien-ming Wang (7-4) recovered after a two-run second inning to pitch a solid eight innings. Wang struck out seven and scattered four hits.
Kester allowed three runs and six hits in 6 1/3 innings.
