1918 – 2003

MANCHESTER, NH – Sister Rita Dionne (Sister Gertrude-Irene), 84, of the Sister of the Presentation of Mary, died Aug. 3, at her residence.

Born on Sept. 19, 1918 in Lewiston, she was the daughter of Ludger and Irene (Turcotte) Dionne. She entered the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary in 1941, made her first Profession in 1943, and her final Profession in 1948. She received a Bachelor of Music degree from Rivier College, Nashua, N.H.

An accomplished educator and musician for 48 years, she taught primary grades and gave music lessons at St. Anne School and St. Joseph School, Woonsocket, R.I., Guardian Angel School, Berlin, N.H., St. Albert School, W. Stewartstown, N.H., and Presentation of Mary Academy, Hudson, N.H.

Family members include a brother, Albert Dionne, and a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Ouellette both of Lewiston; several nieces and nephews.
