BETHEL – The 23rd annual Sudbury Canada Days which will be held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 8, 9, 10, at the Bethel Historical Society’s Regional History Center. Attractions include Civil War re-enactors, history lecture, historical videos, horseshoe, croquet and badminton tournaments, logging and farming exhibit, traditional craft demonstrations and exhibits, children’s parade, games, ice cream eating contest for kids, special exhibits, log driver’s bean supper, art show, hymn sing and flower show.
The society has an updated cookbook for sale. The last one was published in 1979. Several years in production, this edition is a product of the Museum Shop Committee members Grace McKivergan and Jan Todd. The cookbook has many of the favorite recipes from the older edition, plus lots of different ones from a wide variety of contributors. Also included are old-time household hints that still are useful today. It can be purchased at the society’s museum shop, which is open from 1 to 4 p.m. daily except Monday until Labor Day. The shop can also be accessed Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to noon.
