The speaker and his wife use nature and wildlife as a basis for teaching creation.

PERU – The United Baptist Church of Peru will host a Creation vs. Evolution seminar Aug. 16 to 18. The public is welcome.

Mike Snavely of Mission Imperative will lead the seminar. Snavely was reared in South Africa, the son of missionary parents and has been fascinated throughout his life with wildlife. As a teenager he had a wide variety of “pets.”

After graduating from college, Snavley returned to South Africa to work for the National Parks Service in Kruger Park. Following this, he began a career as an African wildlife artist. After being married, he and his wife, Carrie, returned to South Africa to teach.

Since returning to the United States, they have developed a ministry of teaching creation, using nature and wildlife as a basis.

Saturday, Aug. 16, the seminar will begin at 6 p.m. with “The Pillars of Evolution.” After an intermission, “The Hunters and the Hunted” will be presented at 7:30.

“The Return to Genesis” will start at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 17. At 6:30 p.m. the topic of “The Flood” will be addressed. After a brief intermission, the seminar addresses the evidence for evolution.

The final sessions will be Monday, Aug. 18. “Dinosaurs” will be the subject at 6:30 p.m. After an intermission, “Ancient Civilizations” will be presented to conclude the seminar.
