LIVERMORE FALLS – Matthew Gilbert, the new principal at Livermore Falls Middle School, welcomes the following new teachers to the staff:

• Brad Bishop will be the new physical education teacher, joining the faculty from Lawrence High School in Fairfield and replacing Maureen Cyr.

• Chance Carlson will be the new art teacher, traveling here from Montana.

• Jane Costa will be returning to the school after serving in the armed forces.

• Susan Boyce will be joining Laurie Olsen as a half-time teacher and half-time educational technician in the Resource Room.

Other changes are: Amanda Schultz is moving from the sixth-grade team to the eighth, home economics has been converted to healthy living, Barbara Dufour and Jan Sturtevant are special education educational technicians, Chris Moreau is the athletic director and Debbie Fournier has joined the unified arts team teaching two classes of library skills.

Gilbert says he has been assured that work at the Cedar Street Learning Complex is nearing completion and that the building will be ready for the start of school on Sept. 3.

The sixth-grade students will be in the Cedar Street complex with their teachers, Robin Ouellette, Jen Easter, Alisa Lee, Susan Lamontagne and Troy Eastman.

On staff at the Middle School, in addition to those already mentioned, will be Richard Hoddinott, Wilbur Shardlow, Rosie Wilcox, Connie Keschl, Warren Forbes, Harriet Chassie, Deb Finley, Dawn Pettingill, Denise Acritelli, Sheryl Willette, Sally Speich and John DiSotto.

Gilbert hopes to have a kickoff barbecue for parents, students and staff on Sept. 1.
