1955 – 2003
MINOT – Daniel N. Smith, 47, of 210 Harris Road, Minot, died Friday, Aug. 8, at his home with his family by his side, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Lewiston Sept. 17, 1955, the son of Richard O. and Carmen R. Charest Smith. “Dan” attended Auburn schools and graduated from Edward Little High School in 1972.
On Sept. 2, 1972 he married the former Lillian Camic. He was co-owner of High Tech Fire Protection Co. Inc. with his brother Gary. He ran his company with his brother until his illness wouldn’t allow him. He really enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his new granddaughter.
He also loved working and running his company, collecting antique cars, snowmobiling, being on his boat, and traveling, but most of all he just loved living life to the fullest.
Survivors include one son, Richard Smith and his wife Lucille, and granddaughter, Elliana Rose Smith all of Lewiston; his mother Carmen Smith of Auburn; one sister, Linda LaBonte of Harrison; one brother, Gary Smith and his wife Brenda of Lewiston; one niece, Pamela Paz and her husband Edward of Chicago; two nephews, Scott Smith and his wife Rachel of Lewiston and Eric Smith of Manhattan, N.Y.; many other nieces and nephews; and his companion, Audra Stevens of Sumner.
He was predeceased by his father, Richard.
