Hunting course
HARRISON – A hunter safety course, sponsored by the Western Maine Fish and Game Club, will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 23 and 24. Students must attend both days to receive the certification. ands must be at least 10 years old. Those 12 years and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. SUMNER – A Sumner school reunion will be held at the West Sumner Universalist Church Saturday, Aug. 23. Social hour starts at 11 a.m. followed by a potluck dinner and short meeting. Bring a gift for a door prize.
Saving seeds
SUMNER – “Saving Your Own Seeds” is the topic for a lecture at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, at Hedgehog Hill Farm. The gardens are open to the public for strolls, painting and photographing from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
Craft fair
OTISFIELD – The annual craft fair to raise scholarship funds for the East Otisfield Free Baptist Church will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, at the American Legion Hall on Church Street, South Paris.
Area crafts people will be there and a light lunch will be available. The church will have some tables of hand-made items, white elephant area, plants and home-cooked foods. For information, call Marian Culbert at 743-9832 or the minister at 743-2438.
Veterans’ service
BERLIN, N.H. – The White Mountain Veterans Council of Berlin will be holding its first POW/MIA Recognition Day Candlelight Service Friday, Sept. 19, at the Glen Avenue Park. The service will start at 6:30 p.m. The public is welcome.
