AUBURN – Central Maine Pulmonary Associates is pleased to announce that interventional pulmonologist Mark E. Lund, MD, has joined the local practice.

After receiving undergraduate degrees from both the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Va., and Emory University in Atlanta, Ga., Lund earned his medical degree, cum laude, from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. He performed his internship and medical residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Selected as a clinician investigator candidate, Lund remained at the University of Pennsylvania for his fellowship training in pulmonary and critical care medicine. He pursued an additional year of advanced fellowship specialization in interventional pulmonology and bronchoscopic laser surgery.

Lund is board certified in internal medicine and pulmonary medicine, and is board eligible in critical care medicine. He is a member of the American Thoracic Society, American College of Chest Physicians, American Association of Bronchology, American College of Physicians, and Society of Critical Care Medicine. He has been elected to several honor societies including the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, the Hobart Amory Hare Medical Honor Society, the William Osler Society of Fellows in Medicine, and the National Association of Pathology Chairs Honor Society.

Lund’s special interests include the diagnosis of early lung cancer, airway laser surgery, palliative treatment of advanced lung cancer, occupational lung disease, and mechanical ventilation.

Central Maine Pulmonology Associates is a local medical practice specializing in pulmonary and sleep medicine. Lund is joining Ralph Harder, MD, Richard Kahn, MD, and Alan Glann, MD, at the Auburn specialty practice.
