LEWISTON – The Downtown Neighborhood Association will be hosting the fifth annual Back to School Party and Barbecue at from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at Pierce Street Park.

School bags filled with school supplies will be given to the children in the community, a computer will be raffled and other give-away prizes will be awarded.

The “cooking cops” from the Lewiston Police Department win do the grilling.

The association says it has made great strides in developing community and neighborhood leadership in downtown Lewiston.

Annual events include the WinterFest, Pierce Street Park Cleanup, Tenant Rights/Housing Forum and the Back to School Party.
