BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) – Police are investigating gunfire that broke out at a downtown restaurant over the weekend.

Police arrested two men involved in the Sunday incident, but neither was the gunman, Detective Steven Dumas said. The shots were fired after a growing argument between a patron of Parima Restaurant and the bouncer grew out of hand.

The manager said he doubted the man meant to hit anyone with the bullets, which ended up lodged in the ceiling by the front door.

of the restaurant.

“If he was pointing the gun at anybody, he would have hit them,” he said. “There was a crowd by the door walking out of the building.”

The restaurant had a disc jockey spinning dance music that night. Sherman said the restaurant and bar has hosted all types of music and has never had an incident.

The men arrested were David L. Harris, 22, of Burlington and Sean Fabian, 26, also of Burlington. Harris was charged with simple assault and Fabian was charged with simple assault and felony possession of crack cocaine.

The gunman is at large. Police are asking for anyone with information about the incident to call police at 658-2704.
