PERU – Peru School Committee members are slated to start their 6 p.m. meeting Tuesday, Aug. 19, in the library with two closed-door sessions.
The first executive session deals with a parent and student, and the student’s request to be readmitted to Peru School this year. The second is to discuss a tentative Aug. 8 contract agreement with Peru School teachers.
Other topics will include:
• A vote to ratify a 2003-06 teachers’ contract with the Peru Teachers’ Association.
• Voting to ratify Superintendent John Turner’s hiring of Jennifer Whittemore as a middle school language arts teacher.
• Reviews of the 2003-04 Parent/Student Handbook and 2003-04 Staff Handbook, with possible revisions.
The School Committee also plans to tour the Peru School to gain firsthand knowledge on summer changes, progress on the fire alarm and intercom installation, and water damage.
