LEWISTON – Dick Gleason, owner and president of Gleason Radio Group in Norway, Rumford and Lewiston, is being honored by the Maine Association of Broadcasters as Broadcaster of the Year for 2003.
It is the highest honor a Maine broadcaster can receive for TV or radio. Past honorees include Don Powers, Lew Colby and Ron Frizzell.
Gleason will receive the honor at the association’s annual meeting in Bar Harbor on Sept. 20. He has been in the broadcasting business for more than 30 years.
Bear will teach scrapbooking
AUBURN – Kristina Bear recently became a Creative Memories independent consultant. Creative Memories teaches the art of scrapbooking, including ways to protect photographs from the elements.
Bear will teach people how to turn photos into beautiful and priceless scrapbook photo albums. There will be an open house Saturday, Aug. 23, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 1883 Hotel Road.
