FARMINGTON – The Franklin County Agricultural Society will present the fourth annual Miss Farmington Fair Pageant at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14. Preparation, rehearsals and interview competition will take place during the day.

Contestants and judges are needed, organizers say.

Girls from Franklin County, ranging in age from 7 to 16, are invited to enter the pageant to compete for the titles of Little Miss Farmington Fair (7 to 11 years old) and Miss Farmington Fair (ages 12 to 16). Contestants will be judged in interview, talent and formal presentations.

There will be separate competitions for essays on the fair or on life in Franklin County. The Miss Hospitality title will go to the girl who is most involved in the fair. This could range from entering flower arrangements or baked goods, to showing animals.

Prizes will be awarded in each age group to the winner, the first and second runners-up, essay winners and talent winners.

Judges need to be available for the interview competition at noon Sept. 14 and then for the pageant that evening. To be considered as a judge, people may phone 233-6542 for an application. Judges must be at least 18 years old.
