Driver honored for safety record

PORTLAND – Al Bergeron, a tractor-trailer driver for UPS, was recently recognized by the company for completing 15 years of driving without an accident. Bergeron works out of the UPS facility at 2 Foden Road. His route covers northeastern states.

“I wear my seat belt all the time, driving at work or in my private vehicles,” said Bergeron of his 15 years without an accident. “I also pay close attention to everything around me when I am driving. I do not trust the other driver to always do the right things – look out for the other guy. UPS training has made me think this way and I hope that it will keep me accident free for years to come.”

Feeder Supervisor Paul Maille presented the award at a ceremony honoring Bergeron’s achievement.

Bergeron and his wife, Pauline, live in Sabattus. They have three children.
