JAY – Police charged two people with operating under the influence in separate incidents Friday and Saturday. During one of the incidents, three people ended up in jail.
Cpl. Jeffrey Fournier observed a vehicle operating in a “poor manner” about 1:20 a.m. Saturday as it came to Intervale Road onto Main Street, Chief Larry White Sr. said.
Fournier stopped the vehicle and ended up arresting Dicky Adkins, 27, of Buckfield on a charge of operating under the influence. He was also summoned on a charge of operating after suspension.
In the same vehicle, Jeffrey Farrington, 32, of Jay was arrested on a charge of violation of bail conditions for allegedly consuming alcohol, White said.
While the men were arrested, White said, a passenger in the vehicle, Kimberly Hardy, 22, of Farmington became disorderly and would not cease.
Sgt. Charles Keene arrested Hardy and charged her with disorderly conduct, White said.
Fournier, who was also assisted at the scene by officer Kevin McCutcheon, also arrested Adkins on a Oxford County warrant for unpaid fines for operating under the influence, operating after suspension and leaving the scene of an accident.
The fines for the Oxford County warrant were $624, White said.
No bail was listed on the Franklin County jail arrest log for Adkins.
Farrington was also held without bail and Hardy was released Saturday on $500 unsecured bail. Hardy has a court date Oct. 9 in Farmington.
In a separate incident Friday, Fournier responded to a complaint of a vehicle that had tipped over on Franklin Road, also known as Route 133.
When Fournier arrived on the scene, no one was around, White said.
A while later police received a call from Melissa Darling, 27, of North Jay reporting the accident, White said.
After further investigation and Fournier meeting with Darling, the officer summoned her on charges of operating under the influence and failure to report an accident by the quickest means.
