BUCKFIELD – The annual Buckfield Labor Day Celebration will be held this weekend with events planned for Saturday, Sunday and Monday, Aug. 29 and 30 and Sept. 1.

An old-fashioned street dance is planned for Saturday night from 7 to 11 p.m. featuring the Rockin’ Roadrunners. This will be one of their last performances.

A pancake breakfast is planned for Sunday morning from 7:30 to 9:30 at the Masonic Hall. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 per child.

Labor Day gets under way with a parade starting at 10 a.m. Folks wishing to be in the parade should line up from 9 to 9:45. The parade starts at the high school and makes its way to the town office.

Events following the parade include the annual rubber ducky race, horseshoe tournament, “survivor” competition, children’s games, Ye Olde Jail, Karaoke, yard sale items and music. There will be more food vendors this year. On display will be antique cars and engines, street rods and race cars.

The Zadoc Long Library will be having a book sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be an art and quilt show at the Community Church from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
