BUCKFIELD – A community parade to include bikes will be held as part of planned Labor Day festivities beginning at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 1, in the town.

A men’s pie sale will be held. Apple pies will be included. The Zadoc Long Free Library will continue its book sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, through Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 1, from 2 to 8 p.m., at the library.

Agriculture Education

OXFORD – The Oxford County Soil and Water Conservation District has announced it will hold a Agriculture Education Day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, at the Oxford County Fairgrounds.

This event is free to any public or private school in Oxford County and involves presentations on the grounds where students in kindergarten through grade 12 can learn about natural resources. There will be many activities relating to local history, agriculture, animal and plant growth, and more. Students will join scavenger hunts and other activities.

Crafters wanted

NORWAY – The Stone-Smart Post and Unit 82 American Legion is searching for crafters for the legion’s fall festival craft fair.

Included will be a flea market and food sale. The festival will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at the Legion Hall on Main Street. Table rentals are $10.
