Kendall Scott Lane of Minot joined the Army Infantry after graduating from Edward Little High School in 1988. He served for 11 years prior to being discharged. He then re-entered the service and graduated from the Air Defense Academy at Fort Bliss, Texas, as an honor graduate.

During his terms of service he has been part of Operation Desert Storm and Desert Shield, taken two rotations to the country of Bosnia and a six-month rotation to the country of Peru. Lane is now serving somewhere in Iraq.

Lane has achieved one of the highest honors an Army noncommissioned officer can achieve – induction into the Sergeant Audi Murphy Club, which represents the best in the noncommissioned officer ranks as well as exemplary leadership ability.

Lane is a staff sergeant assigned to C/1-44th Air Defense Artillery, stationed at Fort Carson, Colo. He is married to Monica Lane and they have two children, Khristopher, 8, and Kiana, 5.
