BRYANT POND – Michael Donald Forkus, 41, died unexpectedly Aug. 27.
He was born in Dorchester, Mass., on Sept. 13, 1961, the son of Paul John and Marie Ann (Thomas) Forkus Sr., was educated in Rockland, Mass., schools graduating from High School in 1979 and later attended the University of Maine at Portland-Gorham graduating in 1984.
He had worked for the Spurwink School for 16 years and was dedicated to the children he worked with. He was an avid outdoorsman, an avid Red Sox fan; loved animals and was always giving of himself to others. He was devoted to his children and was very actively involved in their school activities.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Susan Ganem Forkus and three daughters, Danielle Mae Forkus, Elizabeth Delia Forkus and Victoria Dyan Forkus all of Bryant Pond; his parents of Davenport, Fla.; one brother, Paul John Forkus Jr. and his wife Renee of Atkinson, N.H.; one sister, Deborah Marie Valente and her husband Brad of Lakeville, Mass.; mother and father-in-law, Richard and Diane Ganem of Auburn; brother-in-law, Anthony Ganem of New Gloucester; sister-in-law, Nancy Ganem of Old Orchard Beach; brother-in-law, Richard Ganem Sr. of Iowa; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by all his friends and family. He was the best brother you could ask for.
