The men’s basketball standout from Topsham cites personal reasons.

ORONO (AP) – Maine forward Rickey White has left the squad for personal reasons, school officials said Friday.

Rickey White averaged 13.2 points per game last season and was named first-team all-conference in the America East Conference.

White, a senior from Topsham, also set a conference record last season by making 66.2 percent of his shots from the field.

Black Bears’ coach John Giannini said in a written statement that White needs to focus on his family and personal matters at this time.
