FARMINGTON – Former employees of the old Franklin County Memorial Hospital met Aug. 8 at Deercrossing Apartment Building on Anson Street for a time of renewing friendships that were made many years ago as well as meeting others who also worked at the hospital.
A total of 23 people had arrived by the time a potluck lunch was shared at noon with two more arriving later. People who had passed away within the past year were remembered, especially Estella Libby who had attended the reunions every year since 1990 and who for several years had called many of the alumni to remind them of the date of the reunion.
Employees from various departments and all shifts were represented, including area doctors. The years covered were from 1929 to May 1, 1975, when the new hospital was opened.
Former employees of the old hospital are reminded that the 2004 reunion will be held on the second Friday in August at Deercrossing Apartments. A potluck lunch is served at noon. Those who are unable to attend are asked to send a note to be shared at the reunion to Vivian Kennedy at 118 Thompson Walton Court, Apt. 29, Farmington, ME 04938 or call 778-2205.
