PORTLAND – Brochures and walk forms are available for anyone interested in participating in the 16th annual Maine Children’s Cancer Program Walk.

The walks will be Saturday, Sept. 20, at Payson Park in Portland and at seven other loca-tions in central and southern Maine: Augusta, Biddeford/Saco, Lewiston/Auburn, Newport/Dexter, Oxford Hills/Poland, Rockland and Waterville.

The goal of the walks is to once again to raise more than $100,000. Jim Bouchard, development director at the cancer program, said that the walks are the program’s biggest fund-raiser.

Preregistration for all the walks begins at 7:45 a.m. The walks start at 9 a.m. Walkers are being asked to collect contributions from family, friends, neighbors and/or their companies. Many walkers will be part of a team from area companies and organizations. Every walker who collects $25 or more will receive a free T-shirt.

For more information and a registration form, people can call the Maine Children’s Cancer Program, 871-6274.
