LEWISTON – St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center has implemented Take Charge! – a community health risk screening program to identify health risks and promote healthy lifestyles to the residents of Androscoggin County.

A screening will be held from 6 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, at Merrill Gym, Bates College. Appointments may be scheduled by calling Prevention and Wellness at 777-8898.

The screening includes lipid profile, glucose measurement, pulmonary function profile, blood pressure measurement, immediate customized feedback, referral process to an appropriate physician and supportive education and health change programs

Under the direction of Dr. Dervilla McCann, Take Charge! uses nationally recognized guidelines to educate and counsel at-risk individuals before they encounter serious medical problems. It is managed by the St. Mary’s Prevention and Wellness program.
