1909 – 2003

LEWISTON – Armand J. Maheux, 94, of 14 Highland Ave. died Wednesday morning, Sept. 3, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center where he had been a patient since Friday evening.

He was born in St. Joseph de Beauce, P.Q., Canada, Feb. 15, 1909, and was educated in Quebec schools. He moved to this area as a young man and remained a lifelong resident of this community.

He worked many years in local shoe shops and later worked some time for Sears in maintenance until 1993.

He was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul’s Church and had also been a member of Institut Jacques Cartier. His favorite enjoyment was simply spending time at home relaxing with family and friends.

He leaves his wife of Lewiston, the former Germaine Fournier, whom he married Sept. 7, 1936; a son, Richard and his wife Louise of Lewiston; several grandchildren; and many more great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Cecile Michaud of Lewiston; one brother-in-law, Real Fournier also of Lewiston; and several nieces and nephews from Quebec City as well as nieces and nephews from the local area.
