BETHEL – Western Mountains Senior College has announced its course offerings for the fall term.

There will be six classes. Classes will start the week of Sept. 21, unless otherwise noted.

Courses offered are:

A Walk in the Woods: On Sept. 21, Rick Churchill will host interested walkers around the woods at Sunday River Inn. The walk will start at 2 p.m. and will be held rain or shine. Plan for about 2 hours. Fee: $5 per person.

Nature Writings: Starting Sept. 24, Bonnie Pooley and Jackie Cressy will lead a course about American writers whose work focused on nature. This class will meet at the McLaughlin Science Center at Gould Academy for seven weeks. The time for the class is 1-3 p.m. Fee: $35.

Use of Self as agent of change: Edie and Charlie Seashore will host this six session course at their home on Broad Street. The theme is how we can use ourselves in relationships and activities to be an agent of change. The class will meet Sunday, Sept 28, afternoon and evening and then Monday and Tuesday, Sept 29 and 30, in the morning and in the afternoon. Fee $35.

What Engineers think about: For six weeks, Larry Engdahl will discuss items of every day life, and how an engineer thinks about them. Meetings will be on Wednesdays starting Sept. 24, from 2-4 p.m. Location: TBA. Fee: $35.

Writing our life stories: Gwyneth Bohr again offers this course. It will meet for seven weeks on Thursdays from 10 a.m.-noon at 38 Chapman St. beginning Oct. 2. This is an opportunity to reflect on our lives using our minds, hearts and imagination.Fee: $35.

Human Biology: Join Ann Morin at Mountain Spring Farm B&B in Rumford to learn about the human body and its many complicated systems. Morin will cover the nervous system, cells and disease and many other topics about “us.” The class will meet on Wednesday, Sept 24, from 1 to 3 p.m. and last for eight weeks. Fee: $35.

Non-members may sign up as well, but should include their $25 membership fee along with the class fee.

Board members will discuss the programs at the O’Neil Robinson House sun porch on Sept. 17 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
