Dear Sun Spots: We need new items for infants, items such as board books, toys, onesies, blankets and personal care items that we can give as gifts for parents and their newborns.

We hope readers can help us with donations for our Welcome Baby bags for first-time families in Franklin County.

Each bag contains a gift for baby, a gift for parent(s) and a packet filled with information about local resources for families, along with parenting tips. The colorful bags are sewn by volunteers with donated fabrics. The gifts are donated by local businesses and friends of the program. New parents feel the support of their community with this gift. We assemble and deliver at least 75 of these free gifts annually. We can be reached at the Franklin County Children’s Task Force, 113 Church St., Farmington, ME 04938. – Karyl Condit, Farmington.

Dear Sun Spots: Last year some organization sponsored a bicycle ride around Lewiston-Auburn. I attended that ride and enjoyed it very much. Do you know if such a ride will be organized this year? – Ron Carmichael, No Town.

Answer:
Sun Spots is not sure which bike ride you may be referring to. Perhaps you can provide more details – such as time of year, sponsors, etc., to help narrow down the search.

Dear Sun Spots: I have several requests:

First, does any reader know where I could find parts and someone knowledgeable to work on a Henry J. car?

Secondly, I have a 1986 Cadillac that needs some minor engine and body work. I’m looking for someone other than a car dealer to work on this also.

How old does a vehicle need to be before it does not need a title?

I can be reached at (207) 539-4202. Please call and leave a message. – No Name, No Town.

Dear Sun Spots: I need help in obtaining older knitting books that have baby raglan sleeve sweaters and tiny booties for newborns and infants. I knit for SEARCH and have lots of spare and 3-ply yarn to use. I’m sorry I sold all my old books in a yard sale several years ago. Maybe someone will recognize a little ‘bunny ear’ bonnet instructions I had. I will gladly pay for copying. I can be reached at (207) 786-7711. – A.F.G. No Town.
