1929 – 2003

WILTON – Minnie E. Madison, 73, of Wilton, died early Wednesday morning, Sept. 3, in the comfort of her home.

She was born Nov. 30, 1929, in Lake Luzerne, N.Y., a daughter of Percy and Martha (Fish) Brannon. She attended grade school in a one room school house and later graduated from Hadley Luzerne Central in 1948.

As a young woman she worked as a waitress at the Rocky Ridge Ranch and later at the Northwoods Dude Ranch in the office.

On Nov. 4, 1950, she married Lou Willett and was a homemaker to her family. Mrs. Madison later worked at International Paper, Corinth, N.Y. , in 1959 as a sorter until 1961. She then worked at General Electric in Fort Edward, N.Y., until 1968.

In 1968, she married Al Madison in Corinth, N.Y., and moved to Maine where she worked at Bass Shoe in Wilton for a short time.

Mrs. Madison was a member of the Corinth Emergency Squad Auxiliary while in New York and a volunteer at the Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington accumulating over 10,100 hours of service since 1990.

She enjoyed bowling very much and bowled in the Monday Niters League in Wilton. She also was instrumental in forming the Sunday Night Mixed Nuts League and served as its Secretary for many years. She also enjoyed going to play BEANO with her dear friend and neighbor, Blanche Parker.

She is survived by two sons, Bud and his wife Jean and Gary and his wife Jackie Willett all of Jay; a daughter, Bonnie Fitch and her husband George of Farmington; three stepsons, Bruce and his wife Peggy of Clifton Park, N.Y., David of Canton, and Dale and his wife Renate Madison of Jay; a stepdaughter, Diane Joudrey and her husband Orrin, Sr. of Mardela Springs, Md.; eight grandchildren, Mike, Marc, Brandy, Megan, Eric, Erin, Sheryl, and BJ; five stepgrandchildren, Jamie, Marco, Debbie, Stephanie, and Orrin, Jr.; several great-grandchildren; a sister, Myra Long and her husband Al of Corinth, N.Y.; a sister-in-law, Ann Brannon of Mechanicville, NY.

She was predeceased by her husband, Al; a brother, Earl Brannon; an infant son; and her first husband, Lou Willett.
