1928 – 2003

AUBURN – Robert E. Davis, 75, of Minot died Tuesday, Sept. 2, at Clover Manor.

Born in Lisbon Falls, March 22, 1928, the son of Harry and Maude Vosmus Davis, he attended Durham schools and Edward Little High School.

He was a plumber, working for Ted Walker and Ellsworth Blair before operating his own plumbing business, until his retirement in 1989. He married the former Ruth Bradbury on Oct. 12, 1947.

He was a 50-year member of Tyrian Lodge #73 AF & AM and a member of the Kora Temple. He enjoyed snowmobiling, four-wheeling, hunting and animals. He especially enjoyed taking his dog, “Rodney” for rides on the four-wheeler. He was a great husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth of Minot; two sons, Steven and his wife, Sharon of Minot and Stuart and his wife, Kim of Waterford; five grandchildren, Steven Davis and his wife, Michelle, Stacy Whetzell and her husband, Tim, Amy Vaillancourt and her husband, Gregory, Andrew Davis and Brit Davis; a great-grandson, Trent Andrew Vaillancourt; a sister, Doris Sullivan of Augusta; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Forest and Harold.
