PERU – Girl Scouts of Kennebec Council Telstar Service Unit will be holding two sign-up sessions. The first will be held at the Peru Elementary School Gym at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10. The second will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, at the Dixfield Public Library.

Girls in kindergarten to grade 12 are invited to join. Parents interested in volunteering with the Girl Scouts of Kennebec Council are also invited. Parents can contact Joy Pierce at 1-207-562-4344 for more information.

Veterans speaker

RUMFORD – Ronald Theriault, Rumford, flotilla staff officer in public affairs for the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, was guest speaker at the South Paris Veterans Home recently. He spoke on the activities of the auxiliary. Anyone interested in learning more about the auxiliary can call Theriault at 364-3502.
