1923 – 2003

FARMINGTON – Elva Fotter, 80, of Eustis Ridge Road, Eustis, died Tuesday evening, Sept. 9, at Franklin Memorial Hospital.

Born Feb. 10, 1923, a daughter of the late Charles A. and Hattie L. (Churchill) Buck of Buckfield, she attended and graduated from schools in Buckfield and the Farmington Normal School.

On July 15, 1945 she married Kenneth L. Fotter in Kingfield. Mrs. Fotter was an elementary school teacher in Stratton, retiring in 1983. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Stratton.

She enjoyed making quilts, gardening, reading and doing word finds. She loved going to camp and riding in the boat with her family. She will be remembered by her family and friends as a loving grandmother, who loved taking care of her grandchildren.

Survivors include a son, Kenneth C. Fotter and his wife, Susan of Stratton; a daughter, Sandra F. Scribner and her husband, Greg of Eustis; seven grandchildren, Rori and Rena Caldwell of Portland, Casey and Katie Scribner of Eustis, Regan Fotter of Portland and Kenneth J. and Kassandra Fotter of Stratton; two brothers, Dwight and Percy Buck, both of Buckfield; a sister, Elsie Buck Knightly of Buckfield; and many nieces and nephews

In addition to her husband of 24 years who died May 25, 1969 she was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Ellen Fotter in September 2000; a brother, Phillip Timberlake; and four sisters, Ethel Turner, Maud Ryerson, Hazel Turner and Wilma Shadwell.
