The Sun Journal has done a good job of covering the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. But in its headlines, Palestinian terrorists who kill and maim innocent civilians are referred to as “militants.”
Recently, a Hamas explosive expert named Mohammed Hanbali who participated in the murder of 36 Israelis was referred to as a militant. Hamas is a terror organization, which sends homicide bombers into Israel to kill and injure civilians. It has no interest in the “road map” to peace. Hamas is responsible for the murder of children on busses; teenagers in discotheques and pizza parlors; students on college campuses; and families celebrating Passover seders.
These killers are not militants, they are terrorists, as surely as Osama bin Laden is a terrorist. It seems appropriate that your headlines should reflect this fact.
