AUBURN – Court Street Baptist Church recognized 50-year and over members at the Aug. 10 morning service. Each one was given a framed certificate of appreciation.

The presentation team included Dr. Bill Holt, son of former Court Street Pastor Dr. Ellis Holt (1942-1957), Diaconate Chairman Rob Hansen and Diaconate member Andrea Johnston (carnations).

The music ministry included piano/clarinet duet variations on “Joyful, Joyful” and “Fairest Lord Jesus” performed by Lorna Hansen and Stephanie Davis. A musical tribute, “Find Us Faithful,” was done by Kathy Haley (vocal/piano).

The sermonette was given by a third Holt generation: the Rev. Laura Holt-Haslam, founder of Joyful Harvest Neighborhood Ministry in Biddeford.

Following the sanctuary service, everyone was invited to a buffet in the vestry. There were more than 125 seated for the food and fellowship. Several couples came from Florida for the special program.

More than 20 certificates were presented. Faith, food and fun recognized a combined membership longevity exceeding 1,600 years (averaging more than 56).
