LOVELL – Discussion on whether the Brick Church could become a center for visual and performing arts will take place at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15, at the Brick Church.
Members and officers of the Lovell United Church of Christ have come to the realization that they can no longer support and maintain the Brick Church. After much consideration, they have made the decision that they must turn the responsibility of ownership over to others.
Church trustees have set Oct. 1 as a date by which a group must be brought together to create an organization which would provide leadership to go forward. If that requirement is met to the satisfaction of the trustees, the organization has until April 1 to become incorporated as a nonprofit entity, to which the church could transfer the ownership of the Brick Church if all other terms and requirements were met.
There is a limited amount of time in which to accomplish the work that must be done. Members of the church board of trustees will answer questions, as will people who are involved in the preliminary planning for future and continued use of the Brick Church as an important part of the community. Anyone interested in seeing this project move forward, should plan to attend.
