WATERVILLE – Beth Esponnette scored on a feed from Ellie Thomas with 25:44 remaining in the contest to lift Edward Little to a 1-0 shutout win over Waterville in KVAC girls’ soccer action Friday.

Brittney French turned away 11 shots in net while earning the win. Kelly Landry made 11 saves between the posts for the Panthers (1-1-1) in the losing effort.

Maranacook 8,

Mt. View 0

THORNDIKE – Toby Martin scored four goals, while Jackie Mrazik, and Ali Martin each added a pair of goals as Maranacook cruised to an 8-0 win over Mt. View in girls’ soccer action Friday afternoon.

Amy Cloutier needed only two saves to record the victory in goal for the Black Bears (2-1).

Lewiston 3,

Skowhegan 1

SKOWHEGAN – Katie Morin concluded a squirmish in front of the net by burying the ball into the right corner for the eventual game-winner as Lewiston went on the defeat Skowhegan 3-1 in KVAC girls’ soccer action Friday.

Laura Martel, who had assisted on Morin’s goal, added a goal at 8:51 for the Blue Devils (2-0-1). Sheena Roy scored the first Lewiston goal of the contest.

Goalie Beth Melanson prevented 11 for the Blue Devils, while Lisa Gibson stopped 19 for the Indians (0-3).

Telstar 4, Jay 1

JAY – Mallory Brown scored a hat trick in the second half to lift Telstar to a 4-1 win over Jay in MVC field hockey action Friday afternoon.

Kristie Gould added a goal to account for the Rebels scoring.

Rachel Gagnon drilled an unassisted goal in the first half to give the Tigers (2-2) a short lived lead.

Heather Gionet registered the win in goal for Telstar.

Mountain Valley 3, Georges Valley 0

RUMFORD – Sam Johnson took advantage of a penalty corner and a penalty stroke to score two goals in the first half and spark Mountain Valley to a 3-0 victory over Georges Valley on Friday.

Kaley Bernard tallied a late goal for the Falcons to add some insurance. Mountain Valley’s offense controlled the entire game, peppering Buc’s goaltender Miranda Fillebrough with 26 shots on goal.

St. Dom’s 4, Waynflete 0

PORTLAND – Elisha Dorso netted a pair of goals to pace St. Dom’s to a 4-0 romp over Waynflete as Brian Kay’s winning machine rolled on Friday.

Erica Dorso chipped in with a goal and two assists for the Saints (3-0), while Laura Rideout added one to complete the scoring. Caitlin Rutt made two assists in the winning effort.

Alyssa Valley stood silent in net the entire game, as Waynflete failed to muster a single shot on goal.

Hall-Dale 2, Lisbon 1

FARMINGDALE – Katie Frett drilled the ball to the left of the goalie in overtime to lift Hall-Dale to a 2-1 victory over Lisbon.

The Greyhounds (2-2) struck first at 17:29 of the second half on an unassisted goal from Brianne Delcourt. With five minutes remaining to regulation, Darci Ward responded with a feed to Katie Regan and set the stage for overtime.

Goalie Kim Leadbetter made 11 saves for Lisbon, while Hibby Regan stopped 13 for Hall-Dale.

Winthrop 1, Dirigo 0

WINTHROP – Nicole Emery converted a pass from Elyse Cole to lead Winthrop to a 1-0 win over Dirigo.

The Cougars (0-4) played exceptional defense in the second half along with several excellent stops by goalie Danny Tangkisk. who made 11 saves. Keltie Mullen and Tabitha Therrien combined for one save in keeper duties for the Ramblers.

The Ramblers (0-4) were outshot 19-3 by the Cougars.
