1951 – 2003

Minot – Larry G. Martel, 52, of Minot died unexpectedly Saturday morning at his home.

He was born in Lewiston, Feb. 8, 1951, the son of George and Irene Carville Martel. He graduated from Lewiston High School and faithfully served his country during the Vietnam conflict in the United States Marine Corps.

He worked for S.E. McMillan Comoany in Bangor for 31 years, most recently as a contstruction foreman. He was a member of American Legion Post #150 in Mechanic Falls, and was an avid fisherman and Patriots fan.

He married Patricia LaChance on Nov. 21, 1980.

Survivors include his wife of Minot; his mother Irene of Lewiston; three daughters, Jessica Wiers and her husband Chris of Auburn, Kristin Rice and her husband Everett of Auburn, and Lindsay Martel and her companion Paul St. Pierre of Lewiston; two sisters, Susan Gallant and her husband Paul of Lewiston, and Brenda Beauchesne and her husband Jim of Lewiston.
