LIVERMORE FALLS – Following an executive session Tuesday night, the Board of Selectmen announced that Town Manager Alan Gove will return to work Wednesday, Sept. 17.

Gove has been on personal leave for several weeks, the board said in a news release. They noted that confidentiality laws limit the amount of information that can be disclosed.

“A work situation existed that required investigation. The board is satisfied with the results of the investigation and is optimistic that the functioning of the town office will return to normal within a few days,” the statement said.

With one staff member out on sick leave, in addition to the manager’s temporary absence, the press of business has required the closure of the office Wednesdays. The board hopes to be back to full staff within a few weeks, it was stated.

Selectmen voted Monday night to close the office Wednesdays, starting Sept. 17, to help the remaining staff keep up with the workload.
