1952 – 2003

LEWISTON – Muriel Rose “Minnie” Letourneau, 50, a resident of the South Witham Road, Auburn, died Sunday, Sept. 14, at Central Maine Medical Center, after a long and heroic battle with breast cancer.

She was born in East Bethel Dec. 20, 1952, the daughter of Bruce and Isabelle Kimball Boyce. She was a graduate of Telstar High School. She later married Michel P. Letourneau. “Minnie” worked at Tambrands for 15 years. She later worked as a Longaberger Basket consultant and most recently as a bridal shop sales clerk.

She volunteered at St. Mary’s Hospital gift shop and was an avid participant in the yearly “Relay for Life Walk” to benefit breast cancer research. She was devoted to her family and touched countless lives with her gift of friendship.

She will always be remembered for her giving nature, her positive outlook, her courage, her thoughtfulness and her genuine desire for those she loved to be happy. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Auburn.

She adored her animals and enjoyed music, baking, crafts, decorating, shopping, the beach and travel, and family gatherings.

She leaves her husband, Michel P. Letourneau of Auburn; three daughters, April Martin of Auburn, Kathleen Buiniskas and her husband Frank of Lewiston, Nicole Letourneau of Florida; her mother, Isabelle Boyce of Oxford; a grandson, Gage Buiniskas of Lewiston; a sister, Sharon Grant and her husband David of Bristol, R.I.; two brothers, Michael Boyce and his wife Judy of Orrington, and Kimbal Boyce and his wife Vickey of South Paris.

She was predeceased by her father, Bruce Boyce; and a brother, Brad Boyce.
