Heritage society

to meet Sunday

WEST PARIS – The Finnish American Heritage Society of Maine will resume meetings at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, at the Heritage Center, Maple Street. Barbara Payne will conduct a program of activities with audience participation. A coffee social will follow. The public is welcome.

Trap shoot scheduled

OXFORD – The Lake Thompson Fish and Game Association is holding its fall running deer and trap shoot from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, at its club shooting range, 44 Paine Road, East Oxford. Winners will receive prizes. The donation for each running deer shoot is 50 cents, and each trap round $1. The clubhouse kitchen will be open for refreshments. McLaughlin Garden lectures

PARIS – Kristin Perry, horticulturalist at the McLaughlin Garden, will lead a lecture and hands-on workshop about planting bulbs in Maine gardens from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Sept. 24, at the McLaughlin Garden and Horticultural Center, 97 Main St., South Paris.
