The Sunday Sun Journal’s Perspective article on the casino debate read like a personal biography of eight candidates for high political office (Sept. 14).

However, the Think About It group had the edge on citing facts, figures and pertinent information.

The Casinos No! group read more like an overview of their memoirs.

The pro-casino group really gave us something to think about in terms of what a casino would do for Maine’s economy. One hundred million dollars is nothing to sneeze at, along with the jobs created and the added bonus of money spent in the construction phase.

The Casinos No! group seems to be using scare tactics with their negative impact theory. It is insulting to me, and every Mainer, to be told by this group that we do not have enough common sense to hold onto our wallets.

Mainer’s are well known for their common sense and their keen ingenuity in making things work when others have tried and failed.
