FRYEBURG – Fryeburg Fair officials have announced their camping fees of $6 per night or $27 for eight days. Sites must be requested on entry forms and payment enclosed. All rates include tax. Ordinarily, only one livestock camping site will be available to an exhibitor. A second site must be requested. No exhibitor will be approved for more than two livestock camping sites. If an exhibitor requires additional sites, they may be obtained by application to the Fryeburg Fair Camping Office, P.O. Box 78, Fryeburg, ME 04037 or by calling 935-2912. It is recommended that applications for sites in the visitors camping area be made as early as possible due to number of applications for visitor sites.

Kucinich video

PARIS – There will be a meeting about Dennis Kucinich’s campaign for president, including a video of his June 6 speech at the “Take Back America Conference.” It will be 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, at 253 Halls Pond Road. Road concerns

WATERFORD – The public is invited to a meeting to discuss access and erosion issues concerning the road that goes to Hawk Mountain. The meeting will be 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, at the Town Office. In 2001, a survey of the Keoka Lake watershed identified this road as a major contributor of soil erosion that drains into Keoka Lake. The meeting is sponsored by the Oxford County Soil and Water Conservation District, Lakes Environmental Association, Keoka Lake Association and the town of Waterford.

NORWAY – The Norway Memorial Library is inviting the public to its Patron Appreciation Day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, at the library on Main Street. Refreshments will be provided throughout the day. Children and families are invited for a new season of children’s department reading and activities from 1 to 4 p.m. Crafts, games, stories and food will be offered. A Castle Moonbounce will be on the library’s front lawn, weather permitting.

NORWAY – Memorial Library will hold its third annual International Literacy Day Celebration from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Guy E. Rowe School’s cafetorium and gym. This event will be co-sponsored by Oxford Hills Family Learning. Activities will include drumming, dance, storytelling and crafts. Jan Kubiak and friends will lead children in drumming their stories, Debi Irons will lead children in the creation of dance routines from Latin America, and Rei Cortez will tell stories of native American origin. Costumes from different countries of the world will be available to try on, and there will be international foods to taste. Children and adults are invited. There is no admission fee.

Belly dancing

NORWAY – An introductory “Middle Eastern Aerobic Dance” class will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays beginning Sept. 29 at Art Moves Studio. Basic techniques, combinations and improvisation will be taught by Shawn George. People are being advised to dress comfortably. Long flowing skirts or harem pants are preferred. No jeans. Tai chi classes

NORWAY – Beginner tai chi classes will be offered from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. Mondays for eight weeks beginning Monday, Sept. 29, at the Ripley Medical Building Harper Conference Room at Stephens Memorial Hospital. Tai chi is the gentle Chinese movement art, which has been recognized by the medical community as beneficial for balance and joint flexibility. The class will be taught by Betsey Foster, who has studied tai chi since the mid 1980s and has taught it since 1993. To register, people can phone 875-2426.
