CANTON – A child playing with matches set a chair on fire behind a home here last week, Fire Chief Wayne Dube said.
Firefighters responded to School Street about 6 p.m. and found the chair ablaze in a backyard campsite.
Dube said he spoke with the boy about the dangers of playing with matches.
Firefighters kept flames confined to the chair, which was almost completely burned. The area is surrounded by trees.
