HALIFAX, Nova Scotia (AP) – Marc-Andre Fleury, the first pick in this year’s NHL draft, made 27 saves and the Pittsburgh Penguins beat the Boston Bruins 3-2 on Tuesday night.

Fleury, 18, is making a strong bid to make the Penguins’ roster in his first professional camp. He allowed only one goal in his pro debut, a 1-0 loss to Buffalo on Saturday.

Matt Murley, Patrick Boileau and Rico Fata scored for the Penguins, who won for the first time in four exhibition games.

Sergei Samsonov and Glen Murray scored for Boston (1-2).

Pittsburgh opened the scoring when Murley was left unattended at the side of the net and banged a rebound past Steve Shields at 2:24 of the first.

Samsonov tied it at 15:54 on a power play. Fleury made the initial save off a shot by Joe Thornton but was down and out for the rebound.

Boileau gave the Penguins a 2-1 lead just over a minute later when he picked up a rebound outside the crease and beat Shields with a low shot.

Fata made it 3-1 late in the second when he beat Shields with a low wrist shot from the top of the faceoff circle.

The Bruins cut the lead to 3-2 with a power-play goal by Murray at 2:58 of the third.
