My husband and I retired to Maine in January, leaving behind the hustle and bustle of southern New England, namely Connecticut. Maine, “The Way Life Should Be,” attracted us for many reasons: the beautiful mountains, skiing, hiking, kayaking to name a few.

A casino was not one of those reasons. We left two of those behind. If casinos come to Maine, surely the state motto will have to be changed. For casinos certainly will change Maine. “Maine, The Way Life Shouldn’t Be.” Think about that.

Ask anyone who lives near Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun. Casinos do not make good neighbors.
